Tailgating in the Snow (Week 14)

Tailgating in the SnowThe weather has turned ugly earlier than expected in Newfoundland this year and it has already taken its toll on the Dawgs tailgating fun.

The Dawgs will be forced to adapt to the conditions and maybe go a little "old School" for the remainder of the dismal 2007 Season from Hell.

The Shed Dawgs with Dolphins Owner H. Wayne Huizenga

The Shed Dawgs with Miami Dolphins Owner Mr. H Wayne Huizenga

Shed Dawgs Mike, Jeff, Corey, Aaron and Rook are back from Miami and Fandango 2007 which was highlighted by the Miami Dolphins 4th Annual Web Weekend. Highlights of the trip included pregame field passes, exclusive stadium and training facility tours as well as a dinner and banquet that included team owner Mr. H. Wayne Huizenga, President Bryan Wiedmeier, CEO Joe Bailey, Head Coach Cam Cameron and other members of the Miami Dolphins.

The Dawgs would like to thank the Miami Dolphins for giving us the VIP treatment over the past weekend. In particular, we would like to thank Scott Stone, Rodney Wood, Michelle Stone and Ryan White for all their hard work in making the weekend a huge success.

We would also like to say hi to all the Web Weekend participants. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting those there for the first time.

Rooks Top 10 things you need to know about Fandango '07

10) The beaches are even better in person than they are on TV. The water is so friggin warm compared to our waters.

9) You can get 18 beer for $11.99 at the grocery store. Trust me when I say we took full advantage of that deal day in and day out. Plus, the beer boxes had Dolphin team helmets on them. Classy!!!

8) Driving down Ocean Drive was like actually playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for PLaystation, or watching Miami Vice, CSI: Miami, or Scarface….Insane!!!!

7) MANGOS MANGOS MANGOS

6) The hardcore American in the pool in South Beach who drank our Iceberg Vodka. We gave him a stiff one and what did he do? Held his glass in the air, splashed in right down in the chlorine water to get some mix, and continued to drink…..What is that? A double Vodka and Pool Water. OR a crazy Californian….u decide!

5) I gotta say touring Dolphin Stadium was amazing. We got to go down on the field, we toured the Locker Room, we saw all the jerseys hanging in the lockers. We got to see some renovations to the building. Did you know Dolphin Stadium has over 2700 TV Screens. And you know what, every Sunday in 07-08, the Dolphins will suck on every one of em.

4) The Hall of Legends. We saw Dan Marino’s encased locker from his last ever game. Complete with shaving gel and underarm deodorant. Right Guard on both if you were wondering.

3) Papa John’s Pizza. Man! That stuff is like crack.

2) Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Somehow we managed to find ourselves on this street more than others. There are over 650 streets named after Martin Luther King in the US and the one in Miami is pretty shady. To quote the great comedian Chris Rock “If you find yourself on Martin Luther King, Run!!!!!!”

Number 1: ------- The 2Michelles.....nuff said!!!!!!!!!

Exclusive interview with Dolphins great WR Nat Moore

Dolphins Honor Roll Member...Nat MooreThis past summer, Shed Dawg Mike was part of a conference call to interview Dolphins legend Nat Moore. Nat Moore was one of Dan Marino’s favorite targets. When Moore retired he had broken almost every team record of the Miami Dolphins. Nat would end his storied career with 510 receptions for 7,547 yards and 74 touchdowns. Nat was elected to the Pro Bowl in 1977, his best season, when he led the league in scoring with 12 touchdowns and 52 receptions. In 1984, the league voted him “Man of the Year,” an honor given on the player who gives outstanding service to his community. Moore also received the Byron Whizzer White Humanitarian Award in 1986; and in 1998, he created The Nat Moore Foundation, an organization designed to meet the needs of disadvantaged youth in the Miami-Dade County area. Nat continues to be active in broadcasting as well commenting for both the Dolphins and the University of Florida Gators.

To listen to the entire interview click here.

Exclusive interview with Dolphins great Mercury Morris

Mercury Morris was instrumental as part of the historic Dolphins undefeated team of 1972. That year, he ran for exactly 1000 yd, becoming, with teammate Larry Csonka, the first 1000-yard tandem in NFL history.

Mercury Morris sat down last summer with Doug Ford for Dolfansites.com, the main website for the Miami Dolphins Web Weekend group of fan sites.
