On this Thanksgiving 2005, we must take time to reflect on all the things in life we are thankful for. Our families, our health, the shed, the dolphin cheerleders, Sam Madison’s parents.... etc etc. But we must also be weary of things we are not thankful for...a franchise record for penalties, a rookie running back who fumbles the ball on a late 4th quarter comeback drive, a botched punt, interceptions and turnovers. Through all the misplays that the fins had on Sunday, it still amazes me that they were even in the game in the 4th quarter. I guess we should be thankful for that. The team showed some heart and really had things turned around in the second half. And you know what, I don’t blame Ronnie Brown for this loss. Sure he should have went down early, but the guy is a rookie under intense scrutiny, and the dolphins needed a TD, not an FG. My turning point is the INT Gus threw into the endzone late in the first half. I think the Fins could have used that as momentum to carry them into the second half and onto a road victory. Spragan’s penalty on 3rd down was also huge. But in the end the dolphins turned out to be just like thanksgiving dinner: Lots of penalties by lots of turkeys...and Ronnie Brown is the stuffing.... good but not great, and it leaves you with a bad stomach for the rest of the night.
